I can has a break?

OK. I love Icanhascheezburger.com, and LOLcats in general, as much as the next guy. Truly. I have spent hours, in aggregate, laughing myself to tears on the site.

But when I ran across an item on the site on Tuesday morning announcing that it is teaming up with the trendy micro-soda company Jones Soda to run a contest to put LOLcats on root beer--and other flavor--bottle labels, I had to ask myself if someone was maybe huffing a little too much catnip.

Me, too. Jones Soda has a history of wacky labels, not to mention some of the products themselves.

I just wish instead of partnering with a soda company, Icanhascheezburger was teaming up with politicians to make campaign posters. Now that would be a mashup I'd like to see.

I liked the last idea best. A McCain, Obama, Hillary LOLCats poster series would rock, but it'd have to be done by the campaigns themselves not more comedy central rehash wanna be jokers.

Nice, but this is not likely to turn around Jones Soda's troubling financial results.

I think the LOL cats are funny enough but I am a little horrified if THAT is the best they could come up with to "execute the details of a bold new direction."

    Too Cute! I don't drink soft drinks anymore but I will tell friends and family about this company. I don't know, I can see using the drinks and using them like I do candy, to give them away to friends and colleagues on occasions. Pretty little bow, make somebody laugh for the day.
